'Vintage Victorian Steampunk Apocalypse Ancient_Future_Wares/Wearable Assemblage™' [collectively called 'Steampunk Apocalypse™'] is a mixture of fashion, romance, fear, war and propaganda with an Industrial/Victorian Age backdrop. This anachronistic clothing line combines the old with the new, and consists of items such as antique architectural hardware, brass wire, vintage ephemerae and embellishments, juxtaposed with aphotic imagery of gas masks, machine guns, grenades, missiles and other war paraphernalia. Inspired by myriad ideologies, this line reflects the artist's love of vintage items and antiques, with a twist of more modern and dire imagery. This clothing line is an anachronism. It does not depict any one time in history. It is rather the inclusion of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Embellishments are handmade and assembled. The artist's love of Daguerreotype, Ferrotype, and other methods of obsolete image making is clearly evident. Original artwork is produced on distressed glass and/or metal and is then affixed to jewelry, clothing, footwear, purses and other accessories, for a truly One-of-a-Kind wearable assemblage. Artist_X, is the sole creator and designer of 'Vintage Victorian Steampunk Apocalypse Ancient_Future_Wares/Wearable Assemblage™' [a.k.a. 'Steampunk Apocalypse™'], and holds all rights to this wearable art clothing and accessories line, uses of said name and derivatives of this name. |

One of a Kind DIY Reconstructed Vintage Victorian Steampunk Apocalypse™ Grape Velvet and Tulle Skirt with Detachable Metal Plate "Ferrotype" Belt: This is another cool skirt! It is made of slightly stretchy and very SOFT grape colour velvet with a tattered/distressed grape tulle overskirt with "X" stitching around the waist. It has a lightweight, detachable metal plate belt with a handmade chain. You can wear this belt with the skirt or with any article of clothing that you own! The skirt will fit a 24-28" waist and up to 36 " hips and is 32" long. The metal plate belt measures approximately 4x5" and comes complete with a handmade metal chain from which the image hangs. The distressed image on the metal plate is of a Victorian couple in their sitting parlor who are wearing goggles and a gas mask, with a missile behind them. This Vintage bag belonged to my great Aunt Viola and is made from blood red reptile skin [i am not sure if the skin is faux or real], and has two rusted stars and gears on it, as well as a "Ferrotype" plate with a woman in a corset, goggles and a bullet belt wielding a machine gun. You might want to grab it before i change my mind about selling it. Yes, it is THAT hard to part with! I am not exactly sure of the fabric content but it is VERY soft and VERY flowy. I would say it is possibly taffeta, but it isn't thick and stiff like most taffeta fabrics i have known. It has more of a silk, flowing feeling. At any rate, this gorgeous Vintage skirt has over 200" of sweeping hemline, a 10" flounce ruffle and looks beyond amazing on! It also has a very cool one-of-a-kind chain belt. The top part of the dress is made from a baby soft stretch fold-over tube fabric which will fit a variety of torso lengths and widths. The bottom part of the dress is made from an acetate/taffeta-like fabric. It would best fit someone around a size 6 but it is so stretchy and wide that it will fit anyone whose widest part of the lower body is not more than 36-37" because this is the measurement of the dropped waist/hip area which does not stretch. The skirt part is longer in the back than in the front and has four ruched areas with black lace bows. The gloves are from Fownes and have added criss cross wraps to give them more style and drama. They go just about up to the elbow depending on how long your forearms are.
